Saving Food – video
Reducing foodwaste is serious business. Tracking and reducing food waste at the source not only saves you money, but saves the environment – both ‘downstream’ (landfills, compost charges, etc.) and ‘upstream’ (fertilizers, transportation carbon, etc.) Identifying which foods are overproduced can even help you donate to a local food recovery organization on a regular basis. All of this is very serious business. But sometimes we can poke a little fun at ourselves too…
City Harvest a food recovery center in New York City, has posted these videos to their Rescue Food site. It’s a twist on ‘saving food’ and ‘food rescue’…
Check it out: http://www.rescuefood.org/ And it’s a good cause too.
