The San Diego Food System Alliance has recognized LeanPath with its Distinguished Program "EMIES" Award.

The 2018 EMIES honor businesses, organizations, and institutions with exemplary practices around food waste prevention and recovery. The EMIES honor the legacy of Congressman Bill Emerson, sponsor of the 1996 Federal Bill Emerson Good Samaritan Food Donation Act, which protects food donors from liability.

The San Diego Food System Alliance is working collaboratively with state and local governments, food establishments, food banks, and food pantries to catalyze efforts to reduce food waste and increase donations. Through its partnership with LeanPath, the alliance offers grants to foodservice establishments to install LeanPath's food waste prevention system.

Michael Robb, LeanPath Business Development Manager, accepted the award. "It was a great honor for LeanPath to be selected by the San Diego Food System Alliance. Reducing food waste and increasing recovery is making a difference in the greater San Diego area, and we're excited to be a part of this meaningful goal."

LeanPath is proud to have been recognized throughout 2018 for our work in preventing food waste. Read more, here, here and here.
