As we look back on 2025, the numbers tell an incredible story of commitment, innovation, and impact. The slides below detail exactly what happens when thousands of kitchens around the world come together with a single goal: preventing food waste.
Scroll through the 2025 Year in Review slides below to see the full breakdown of our shared impact.
This year, Leanpath partners prevented more than 38 million pounds (over 17 million kgs) of food waste. To put that into perspective, that is the equivalent of keeping 32 million meals out of the bin and on the table where they belong.
But the impact goes far beyond the scale. By preventing that waste, we collectively saved vital natural resources, including over 150 million bathtubs full of water and nearly 430 million gallons of gas. We also avoided more than 120,000 metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions, proving that commercial kitchens are a powerful frontline in the fight against climate change.
How did we get there? It started with data. These results were driven by nearly 8 million unique food waste transactions logged by culinary teams around the globe. Furthermore, our partners turned insight into action using over 315,000 AI-generated recommendations to spot trends and adjust production.
From Sheraton Amsterdam cutting waste by 50% to Carle Health achieving a 44% reduction, the success stories in the presentation below illustrate the power of combining technology with culinary expertise.
Beyond the numbers, 2025 was a landmark year for Leanpath innovation and advocacy. We are proud to celebrate three major accomplishments that will drive even greater reductions in the future:
Surpassing Our 123 Pledge Goal: In alignment with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goal 12.3, we pledged to help our partners prevent the equivalent of 50 million meals by the end of 2025. We are thrilled to announce that we didn't just meet this goal—we surpassed it early, preventing over 65 million meals cumulatively by September.
Releasing the Leanpath Mobile App: In April, we launched our mobile app, putting the power of AI-driven food waste prevention directly into the hands of chefs and managers. This tool has transformed how teams access real-time data, making waste reduction accessible from anywhere in the kitchen.
Launching Floor Scale AI: In October, we introduced our fully touchless, AI-powered Floor Scale. Designed for high-volume operations, this innovation uses machine vision to automatically identify and track food waste, making data collection faster and more accurate than ever before.
Whether you are a long-time partner or just starting your food waste journey, these results prove that small changes in the kitchen can yield massive results for the planet. Let’s make 2026 our best year yet.
