Leanpath Surpasses 123 Pledge, Prevents 65 Million Meals from Going to Waste
Leanpath, the global leader in food waste management for foodservice and hospitality, announced today during Climate Week that it has surpassed its ambitious pledge to prevent the equivalent of 50 million meals from going to waste by the end of 2025. Leanpath has prevented the equivalent of more than 65 million meals from being wasted in the last 2 years alone.
In 2022, Leanpath joined organizations from around the world in the 123 Pledge, to accelerate global efforts in food waste reduction in line with the United Nations’ Sustainability Goal 12.3 to cut food waste in half by 2030. As part of this commitment, Leanpath set a bold target of preventing 50 million meals' worth of food waste by the end of 2025.
"We are incredibly proud of achieving this milestone ahead of schedule," said Leanpath CEO Andrew Shakman. "This achievement isn't just a number; it represents a significant step forward in our collective fight against food waste and climate change. Our clients prove every day that with the right tools, food waste is a solvable problem that can deliver both financial and environmental benefits."
Leanpath's global food waste management platform provides kitchen teams and organizations with the tools and insights needed to measure and manage food waste, transforming kitchen culture and driving significant reductions in waste. The company, which created the automated food waste prevention category in 2004, works with some of the world’s largest foodservice providers, including Sodexo, Google, Compass, and Aramark, and is deployed at more than 4,000 kitchens around the world.
The Leanpath 12.3 Initiative further aligns Leanpath’s B-Corp focused work with the United Nations’ Sustainability Goal 12.3, expanding the reach of food waste solutions to resource-constrained educational and non-profit organizations. Learn more at https://www.leanpath.com/leanpath-initiative/.
